"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" is a humorous look at famous Tasmanians from the time of white settlement to present day, as seen through the eyes of children. The exhibit will consist of 18 full-size figures made from papier mache, seated as guests at the same dinner table. It will be constructed entirely by students from schools throughout Tasmania, and will be on display at the Tasmanian Craft Fair, Deloraine, 29 October - 1 November 2004. |
| |
The project will provide greater knowledge of the State's history, heritage and culture to the students involved in the creation of the exhibit at the Tasmanian Craft Fair.
The project will also provide recognition and awareness of social, cultural and economic achievements over the past 200 years, and it will commemorate settlement of Tasmania from 1803 to present day. |
| |
Entry to the exhibit is free. The exhibit will be situated in Rotary Park, Deloraine, so visitors can view it without necessarily paying to enter the Craft Fair. |
