You are invited to participate in a photographic competition with a difference. As part of the Bicentenary in Clarence, 12 themes have been adopted to celebrate the diversity of the City. Participants will be given a 12 exposure film and must take one shot representing each of the 12 themes from the Bicentennial calendar.

But there’s a catch! Entrants submit their undeveloped film to the Eastlands Camera House for processing and will not be able to view their photos until the official opening and award presentation at the Schoolhouse Gallery, Rosny Historic Centre on Friday, 7th May 2004.

The competition will operate in two age groups – Open and Under 15. Prizes will be awarded in both categories. The major prize will go to the overall best photo, and 12 prizes from Socrates and Angus and Robertson Eastlands will go to the best photo for each theme in both age categories.

The themes are: History, The Sea, Development in Clarence, Our Community, Sport, Music, The Land, Our People, Education, The Air, Art in the Community and The Future.

Entry forms are now available from Eastlands Camera Centre and Clarence Offices. Participants will be given their film, information and conditions when collecting their form - A entry fee applies.

All photos must be taken within the City of Clarence and entries must be returned to Eastlands Camera Centre by 5.00pm Friday 16 April.

Happy snapping!
